Bible Search

We thank you for visiting the Bible Search web site, an extension of the Bible Search radio program on WLLV (1240 on the AM dial) in Louisville, KY. We call it “Bible Search” because our efforts are inspired by Acts 17:10-12. Paul had been preaching the gospel in Thessalonica (Acts 17:1-4) until the Jews became so enraged that they ran him out of town (vv. 5-10). Paul traveled to Berea and continued teaching in the synagogue of the Jews (Acts 17:10-12).

The Bible tells us that the Bereans were more “noble-minded” or “fair-minded” and that they “received the word with great eagerness” (v. 11). The phrase indicates that they were willing to give a fair hearing to the message that Paul preached. They were not so prejudiced that they stopped their ears, shouted him down (cf. Acts 7:57), and refused to even think about the message Paul was preaching. On the contrary, they were willing to give the message careful thought.

Are you willing to search the Scriptures with us? If so, we invite you to join John Humphries each weekday from 1:30-2:00 p.m. on on WLLV (1240 on the AM dial).
