  1. Isaiah 59:1-2; Romans 3:23; Romans 6:23
Sin separates us from God and His favor.
  2. Luke 19:10; Romans 1:16
Jesus Christ did not come to save us.
  3. Acts 2:36-41
Being pricked in their heart moved them to ask a question.
When they asked what they must do, they were told that there was nothing for them to do.
They were told to repent and be baptized for the remission or forgiveness of their sins (v. 38).
Those who gladly received the word refused to be baptized.
  4. Acts 22:16; 1 Peter 3:21
Baptism was commanded because sin was already washed away.
  5. Acts 8:36-39
This man confessed faith in Jesus before being baptized.
This baptism was in water (v. 38).
Philip and the eunuch both going down into the water would suggest immersion rather than sprinkling.
  6. Romans 6:3-4; Colossians 2:12
These were BURIED with Christ in baptism.
  7. Acts 2:41,47
The Lord added to His church daily all who were saved by repenting and being baptized.
  8. Ephesians 4:4-6; Ephesians 1:22-23
The Bible teaches that there are many baptisms.
The Bible teaches that there is ONE body, just as there is one Lord and one God.
The one body is the church of the Lord.
  9. John 17:20-21
Jesus wants division in His church.
  10. 1 Corinthians 1:10-13
God is pleased when we speak different things and divide.
Christ is pleased when some called themselves after Paul, Apollos, and Cephas rather than after Him.
Christ is pleased when He looks upon the divisions in the denominational world.
  11. Acts 11:26; Acts 26:28; 1 Peter 4:16
The disciples were called Christians in the New Testament.
It was good to be called a Paulite Christian, an Apollosite Christian, or a Cephasite Christian (see question 10).
  12. Matthew 16:18; Acts 20:28; Romans 16:16
The church does not belong to Christ.
Some man paid the purchase price for the church so that it belongs to him and not to Christ.
Some congregations were called "churches of Christ."
Christians today should unite on calling the Lord's church the church of God or the church of Christ.
  13. Ephesians 3:20-21; 2 Peter 3:18; Ephesians 5:23
Man is to receive the glory in the church.
A man may be the head of the church (that is, one body may have two heads).
  14. Acts 2:36-41, 47; 1 Corinthians 12:13; Colossians 1:18
When these believed, repented, and were baptized, the Lord saved and added them to a denomination.
People today who believe, repent, confess Christ, and are immersed for the remission of sins, are saved and added by the Lord to His body, the church.
  15. James 2:24; Acts 2:47
Since "faith only" does not justify, the Lord will not add anyone to His church who claims salvation by "faith only."
  16. Matthew 26:26-29; 1 Corinthians 11:23-25
Jesus taught that the Lord's Supper would be in His spiritual kingdom (or church).
The disciples are to partake of both the bread and the fruit of the vine.
  17. 1 Corinthians 10:16; 1 Corinthians 11:26
The Lord's church proclaims the Lord's death by observing this supper "till He comes."
If you were in His church, it is God's will that you regularly partake of the Lord's Supper.
  18. Acts 20:7
The New Testament Christians observed the Lord's Supper on the first day of the week (Sunday).
Christians today may vote to change eating the Lord's supper to another day?
  19. 1 Corinthians 16:1-2
The Lord's church at Corinth met and gave into the treasury on the same day, the first day of the week.
The first day of the week was a regular day of assembling for the church.
  20. 2 John 9-11; Gal. 1:10-12
God tells us to change the church any way that pleases us.
